About Pelican Bay Foundation

The Foundation manages all common areas, including two beach facilities and two private beachfront restaurants, two racquets’ facilities, two boardwalks, the Fitness Center and Wellness Studio, the Community Center, and approximately 90 acres of land.


About the Position

We are seeking a full-time position as an Assistant Racquets Professional to support assisting our Racquets Operations and two Pro Shops. This includes program services, lessons, Pro Shop desk, Manager on Duty, Merchandising, Court Maintenance, receiving tagging, and displaying of merchandise. This position reports to the Director of Community Center and Racquets.

What You'll Do

  • Interact with members, guests, and Foundation team members, creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
  • Work closely with Director of Community Center and Racquets by creating, orchestrating, and implementing a weekly menu of tennis group lessons and instructional programs, for our members.
  • Teach between 7-8 hours a week on court Racquets programs and lessons.
  • Work a minimum of 15 hours a week on the floor of the Community Center Pro Shop.
  • Work a minimum of 2 shifts a week at the Pro Shop desk.
  • Maintain Tennis Courts as needed, including daily opening procedures and midday court maintenance.
  • Teaching Classes included but not limited to Cardio Tennis, Learn Play Tennis Fast, Pelican Play Leveled Clinics, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 etc. Team Drill and Play, Ball Machine Drills with a Pro. etc. POP and Potentially Pickleball.
  • Maintain operation of designated software programs.
  • String Racquets as needed.
  • Assist in Monthly inventory.
  • Designated buyer, merchandising, and receiver for all merchandise at both North and South Pro Shops. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety training and awareness.
  • Attend First Aid/CPR/AED training – be able to perform as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Community Center and Racquets.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

  • PTR/PPR or Tennis and Pickleball Certification or acquire in first 90 days of employment.
  • Knowledge of Tennis and Pickleball Programming.
  • Outstanding coach, willing and able to coach at all levels and ages.
  • Have a passion for Racquets and aspirations to become a Head Pro.
  • Tennis Clay Court Maintenance Knowledge required.
  • Positive, well-mannered attitude and demeanor.


Education 

  • Minimum high school diploma/GED or equivalent. 
  • Any combination of education, training, and work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described.
