PURPOSE STATEMENT
Provide direction and leadership to all Warehouse Associates to ensure quality of all shipping, receiving, and transporting packaging, ingredients, and finished goods for the facility. In addition to providing the Customer with the highest quality product, Group Leaders promote a positive work environment for associates that is safe, clean, and productive to encourage employee retention.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
- Determine that all products, packaging and ingredients coincide with specifications.
- Complete cycle counts, always ensuring inventory accuracy.
- Verify all deliveries/discrepancies by inspecting materials through physically counting and comparing the amount printed on the delivery receipt.
- Enter necessary documentation of delivery receipts or material handling into the company's computer system.
- Communicate with Quality Assurance Team, Associates and Team Leaders in an effective professional manner.
- Monitor product packaging, product coding and final cases to ensure it is correct and within established standards.
- Schedule breaks/lunches to occur in a timely manner while maintaining warehouse efficiencies.
- Follow all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining and orderly and clean work area.
- Maintain forklifts by daily inspecting batteries, water levels, lights, horn, tires, mirrors, oil levels, backup beep indicators, etc.
- Provide leadership in safe work habits and adherence to safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment and material handling.
- Complete maintenance work orders and follow up as required and communicate with Team Leader.
- Provide ongoing communication with Team Leader and all affected departments, sharing information and making appropriate recommendations and decisions related to performance and productivity.
- Organize/rotate old materials with new.
- Housekeeping: daily remove/fix any dirty, torn, hanging, broken wood, packaging, ingredients etc.
- Label any open/partial ingredients and packaging.
- Check production schedules daily to stage packaging and ingredients if needed.
- Performs all other warehouse and freezer duties.
- Must be able to operate all forklift equipment.
- Must be trained and recertified annually for forklift license.
- Must be able to work in an extremely cold environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- High degree of judgment and organizational skills.
- High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Food manufacturing experience.
- Strong math skills.
- Speak, read, and write English (Spanish is a Plus).
- Basic computer skills.
- Problem solving skills.
- Ability to operate and work safely around machinery and equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to document and measure results.
- Teamwork building skills.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Ability to follow procedures.
- Thorough understanding of food safety basics and associate safety basic practices.
- Must have a high a level of manual dexterity.
