Purpose
TexNet is seeking two candidates for a temporary, hourly position starting October 2025, during which they will be expected to travel to install and deploy seismic stations in the field. It is anticipated that TexNet will be deploying 15 seismic stations throughout the duration of this temporary assignment.
Responsibilities
The candidates will be expected to travel and work in the field, installing and deploying seismic stations which entails:
- Moving components from laydown yard to installation sites
- Preparing the ground for sensor burial
- Connecting solar power systems and batteries
- Connecting and configuring data logger, modems and small cell antennas.
- Setting up cell antennas using hand tools and power tools (such as drills, augurs, saws, etc.)
- Using software tools to confirm operation
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with 2 years relevant experience. Ability to use and experience with hand tools and some power tools. Knowledge of electronic circuits and ability to use digital multimeter. Willingness to travel and work outdoors. Strong communication skills and ability to solve problems in a team-oriented environment. Current passport is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in electronics or related field.
Salary Range
$30 hourly
