Areas you'll support: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Surgical Services and Wound Care

What you'll do:

  • Patient Registration: Accurately collecting and entering patient information, including personal details, insurance information, and medical history.

  • Verification: Ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate, verifying insurance coverage, and obtaining necessary signatures.

  • This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is key

  • Customer Service: Greeting patients and visitors, providing information, and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.

  • Coordination: Communicating with other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and coordination of services.

  • Clerical Duties: Performing general office tasks such as filing, answering phones, and managing patient records

Schedule: PRN Days - the role requires significant flexible open availability
 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist or similar role with insurance verification experience

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EPIC electronic medical records

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.

  • High school diploma or equivalent, as well as additional certification in medical office administration, is a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Admit all patients in a timely and accurate manner
• Ensure all current information has been documented, signatures received, insurance has been verified, authorizations received, and the deductibles or co-pays have been requested in a compliant manner
• Ensure the wrist bands are put on the proper patients, advance directives given to each patient and patients receive the answer to any questions or concerns they may have.
• Assist with in-patient patient admissions, as needed
