Summary          

Responsible for making sure that Employee Health Clinic runs smoothly.  Provides input to the Team in establishing a plan of care for the patients.  Assists Clinic Medical Team and Department Manager with a variety of technical skill, phlebotomy tasks, and special projects. 

Essential Job Responsibilities                                                                   

  • Clinical Required:  Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by Federal and State laws and regulations.

  • Performs Clinic duties

    • Prepares Clinic charts. Reviews charts for lab or x-ray orders and obtains outside information and films.

    • Directs clinic flow by putting patients in rooms.

    • Provides charts to providers.

    • Obtains height, weight, and vital signs on patients.

    • Performs eyesight examinations and color-blindness testing.

    • Obtains blood draws and urine specimens for pre-employment physical examinations.

    • Performs push/pull and lift testing for pre-employment physical examinations.

    • Performs N95 mask fittings to employees.

    • Assists in tracking of employees’ immunizations and titer results.

    • Arranges medical consultations, medical tests and other referrals as requested by the provider.

  • Monitors and orders medical supplies

  • Arranges for ancillary services as requested by the provider.

  • Functions within the limits of the State Nurse Practice and abides by the standards, policies and procedures set forth by the Hospital and Employee Health.

Customer Service Responsibilities                                                                                               

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information. 

Responsibilities in Quality Improvement                                                                         

Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.

Essential Job Qualifications                                                                                                          

  • Must have High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training/certificate program. Certification as CMA or RMA.

  • At least two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a health care in a clinical setting.

  • Must have thorough education or training in the basics of medical terminology

  • Proficiency in the operation of computer hardware and software including Microsoft programs, email accounts, etc.

  • Ability to maintains strict confidentiality

  • Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations

  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures

  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions in a medical practice setting.

  • Current American Heart Association BLS Course for HealthCare Providers

  • Maintains competency according to competency Program requirements.
