As a software engineer on our team, you’ll be involved in every phase of the development cycle: from gathering requirements to implementation, testing, and deployment. You’re someone who can take an open-ended product description and translate it into elegant, high-performance code.

Responsibilities:
- Analyzes and determines integration needs.
- Evaluates and plans software designs, test results and technical manuals.
- Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
- Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
- Edits and reviews technical requirements documentation.
- Works with Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
- Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
- Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
- Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented design and patterns
- 1-2 years of experience and proficiency with Java
- Good communication skills: verbal, written, and listening
Additional Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- UNIX, Linux, or Mac background
- Understanding of or desire to learn JVM performance tuning
- Knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
- Experience with HTTP/REST and writing web services
- Experience with systems monitoring (e.g. Grafana, Splunk Dashboard/Alerting)
- Familiarity with a scripting language
- Experience with data modeling in the entertainment domain
- Familiarity with current trends and technologies around the social web
