The Endoscopy unit is designated care area for adult patients undergoing endoscopic procedures inclusive of colonoscopies, upper endoscopies, trans-nasal endoscopies, and flexible sigmoidoscopies. In addition, advanced interventional endoscopic procedures are also conducted and include endoscopic mucosal resection, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangioscopy, Digital Spyglass cholangioscopy, Radiofrequency ablation, small bowel capsule studies, and balloon enteroscopy and manometry studies. The unit also offers a variety of diagnostic tests for patients with liver disease, including Fibroscan, as well as interventions like esophageal banding. Furthermore, the department serves as a procedural to the Pulmonary Department, who performs bronchoscopy procedures.

​This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders.  In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Clinical Nurse duties: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care needs of a designated group of patients or provides nursing care and identified clinical support tasks within the scope of practice for achievement of the patient’s plan of care as directed.  Provides professional nursing care to patients.
