The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for the preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosis of all machinery and equipment within the plant. It is also responsible for providing manufacturing technical support to department engineers and designers to optimize process efficiency. Will provide accurate paperwork and record keeping. Must have the ability to use measuring and test equipment as required, follow all company rules and policies as well as OSHA/EPA regulations.
This position reports to the Plant Supervisor, is part of the Maintenance team located in San Diego and will be an on-site role.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Perform weekly and/or bi-weekly Preventative Maintenance (PM) on designated machines and equipment as assigned. Perform simple building repairs including wall patching and miscellaneous painting.
- Clean equipment, walls and flooring to meet medical manufacturing standards. Coordinate and follow through on work done by outside vendors to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Perform monthly inspections of fire extinguishers throughout the plant, as well as eye wash stations and emergency lighting. Perform weekly routine readings of water meters and daily inspections of ceiling tiles and plant lighting.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months' work experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math and computer skills needed
- Working knowledge of maintenance operations and equipment.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Able to lift and carry over 50 lbs.
- Able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull for at least 8 hours per day. Able to climb a ladder and flex the upper and lower body.
- Able to read and write simple statements and analyze, memorize, conduct and comprehend simple mathematical tasks.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- A manufacturing environment

The hourly range for this role is $26-$30. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
