Job Summary
NetApp is developing a portfolio of cloud-led, data-centric storage platforms and services to help the world’s leading organizations harness their data in new and interesting ways. NetApp is bringing its industry leading, enterprise class data storage technologies into the world’s biggest public clouds and the simplicity & flexibility of cloud into customer data centers. In support of that mission, we are rapidly growing our Cloud Volume Service team. The Cloud Volume Service team is responsible for cutting-edge technologies that enable NetApp’s Cloud Volume Service. Cloud Volumes Service helps you manage your workloads and apps, letting you migrate your workloads to the cloud without sacrificing the performance or the features you're used to having with on-premises storage.
About Role
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead an exceptionally talented & growing engineering team responsible for driving product development, test execution and release strategy. As part of the NetApp Research and Development function, the overall focus of the team will be on delivering innovative technologies to address competitive market and customer requirements with enterprise-class product quality and time-to-market.
Job Requirements
• Lead a team of engineers responsible for all phases of software development life cycle.
• Work with Product management and Engineering teams to refine product requirements, scope for testing and build project execution plans.
• Regularly monitor and track project status using tools like Jira, Tableau, QTEST while ensuring project timelines are met.
• Review product and test defects from quality and release point of view on regular basis.
• Utilize previous technical and people management experience to actively lead complex projects requiring local & global collaboration.
• Thorough understanding and experience with building orchestration on at least one of the major hyper-scaler cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
• Guide and mentor team members to be effective quality engineers while enhancing automation and test coverage.
Education
• Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of experience & 3+ years of managing engineering teams.
• Prior experience managing dev, QA and Automation teams.
• Experience delivering automation strategy and infrastructure for born in the cloud applications.
• Experience leading teams working on Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Clear understanding of the product development cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to manage professional level employees
• Ability to understand and apply new technologies
• Experience with storage technologies or cloud technologies
