Food Manufacturing Machine Op - $15.00 ($500.00 Sign On Bonus)

Description

This position operates and monitors machines so as to deliver quality and quantity materials as needed. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing occupational safety (OSHA), building and electrical codes, and food safety and food quality (FDA) in addition to environmental safety (EPA) in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Reports to the production team lead.

• Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00/hr
• Sign-On Bonus: $500.00*
• Pay Frequency: Weekly (Friday)
• Work Week: Monday to Friday (Some Saturdays)
• Schedule: Varies (up to 12hrs/day)

Job Responsibilities:

• Operates and regulates food manufacturing equipment as needed
• Assists with the set-up and breakdown of equipment and general housekeeping of work area to keep it neat
• Effectively communicates with co-workers, supervising staff and outside resources verbally and in writing;
• Reports errors/incidents/problems to appropriate persons
• Follows and enforces standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA.

Requirements

Education

• GED or Diploma

Experience

• At least one year or more of all-plant (prefer poultry, beef, pork industries, but will consider other food-related industries)
• ERP Software experience is preferred.
• Must be dependable, with history of great attendance
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to do light to moderate lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Must have use of both hands and legs and able to use fingers (manual dexterity for small detailed work).
• Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, squat, sit and stand for various periods of time.
• Must wear appropriate uniform and follow GMP’s.
• Must be willing to use cleaning chemicals for cleaning purposes and complete training for the use of cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able and willing to work in a cold environment
