We are an industry leader within the UK Building Sector with a turnover in excess of £60 million and are on a growth trajectory as we continue to expand in new markets. As such we are hiring for a Commercial Lead (focusing on our Data Centre projects) to join our Commercial Team.   
 On our Projects within the Data Centre Sector, we assume role of Specialist Prefab M&E Contractor, meaning we have control of all elements of our build;  

• Design, 
• Chilled Water Distribution Systems, 
• LTHW Distribution Systems, 
• Plantrooms, 
• Electrical Distribution Modules 
• Delivery, 
• Installation,

Location | Banbridge or Dundalk
Hours | 38 hours.  8.00am to 5.00pm Mon to Thurs & 8.00am to 3.00pm Friday
Salary | Competitive depending on experience
Responsible to | Head of Commercial  

Key Responsibilities

We have detailed below some of the key elements of this role, 

• To lead the project Commercial Team and provide support to the construction team on all commercial and quantity surveying functions including the following key responsibilities: 
• The commercial management of multiple data centre projects, from client award through to AH package award,  
• Responsible for securing the financial delivery of these projects by controlling costs - utilizing your Project Commercial Team.  
• Day to day management of the Project Commercial Team. 
• Identify potential commercial risks and reporting of same to senior management, 
• Track monthly job performance and provide update via accurate reporting and feedback to Head of Commercial.  
• Identify, analyse, and report on trends within the Project Budget at Design, Procurement and Delivery stages.  
• Forecasting the impact of revenue and costs - on Project cashflow.  
• Oversee the management of subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account. 
• Oversee monthly progress applications. 
• Lead the Project procurement in conjunction with Procurement Department.  
• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice of the same to the construction team 
• Integration with our production & fabrication teams to lead on AH’s commercial impact of in-house production/fab capacity. 
• Leading commercial reporting of in-house production & fabrication teams’ performance  
• Any other duties associated required to undertake the above role.  

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Third level qualification in a Surveying or Cost Engineering discipline or can demonstrate an equivalent level of experience. 
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Commercial role.  
• Commercially astute and ambitious.   
• High standard of organisational and time management skills. 
• Sound knowledge of general construction methods. 
• Working knowledge of labour, plant, materials and equipment rates. 
• High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). 
• Excellent attention to detail. 
• Good communication skills. 
• Management experience.
