Medical Courier

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mobile Laboratory Medical Courier to transport medical specimens, laboratory samples, and sensitive medical materials between healthcare facilities, laboratories, and medical offices. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, safe, and confidential delivery while strictly adhering to medical transport protocols and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport laboratory specimens, biological samples, and medical supplies between hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare facilities.
• Follow proper specimen handling procedures to maintain sample integrity, including temperature control and biohazard safety.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and DOT regulations for the transportation of medical materials.
• Adhere to designated routes and schedules, while remaining flexible for urgent or STAT deliveries.
• Maintain accurate logs, delivery receipts, and chain of custody documentation.
• Properly store and handle biohazard materials according to safety guidelines.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain transport containers and equipment for proper operation.
• Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel, healthcare providers, and dispatch teams.
• Navigate safely in various traffic, weather, and road conditions to ensure on-time deliveries.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable vehicle (if using a personal vehicle) and valid auto insurance.
• Ability to lift and carry medical supplies and specimens (up to 50 lbs).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict handling procedures.
• Familiarity with medical specimen transport and HIPAA regulations (preferred).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a medical or laboratory courier.
• Knowledge of biohazard handling and laboratory specimen transportation.
• Familiarity with GPS navigation and route planning for efficient deliveries.
