Job Description

We are growing and so is the Enterprise Program Management Office team!  Projects are becoming more complex with teams working throughout the globe.

The ePMO team supports complex, cross-functional, delivery of products and services for the enterprise by providing people, processes and Tools that enable on-time project/program delivery. 

Squaretrade is looking for a Senior IT Project Manager within the ePMO team to deliver high quality, cross-functional IT projects on-time and within budget.  You will be hands-on to help teams plan/direct/monitor projects from initiation through delivery; organizing cross-functional activities to ensure the successful completion of projects on schedule and within constraints of quality, schedule, and scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders, IT management, IT team members, and external vendor resources to deliver programs on time and budget with highest quality
  • Manage portfolio of IT projects to drive visibility of status, risks, dependencies, and capacity
  • Plan projects in detail and work with resource managers to acquire and schedule human and technical resources
  • Establish key milestones and drive progress to accomplish milestones in a timely manner 
  • Understand and coordinate the sequencing of projects to accomplish progress within an Agile development environment
  • Determine critical path and track dependencies on partners, vendors, and other 3rd parties and effectively influences successful dependency resolution
  • Ability to think strategically and deep dive into the details to solve complex issues and keep teams moving forward
  • Communicate status, issues and risk across key stakeholder groups; always monitoring project health and assessing the needs of the team
  • Aggregate, organize, and synthesize program and project information in order to communicate with extended team and management
  • Prepares and presents milestone reviews to upper-level management with input from project teams
  • Hold teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work; leveraging organizational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members
  • Define and manage a well-defined project management process and champion ongoing process improvement initiatives to implement best practices for Project Management
  • Promote empowerment of the team, ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and making a meaningful contribution, and encourage a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team
  • Cultivate and drive a culture of innovation and effective problem-solving

Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills; 8+ years proven experience managing complex projects to successful completion including the ability to navigate complex environments and work with interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate priorities, delivery expectations, risks and concerns to senior management
  • Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and best practices including Scrum, Agile and Waterfall
  • Detail-oriented process improvers. Critical thinkers who naturally see opportunities to develop and optimize work processes – finding ways to simplify, standardize and automate
