- 10 years of experience in a mobile app, gaming, or similar technology industry, or 8 years of experience with an advanced degree.
- 5 years of experience working with executive stakeholders.
- Experience in a people management role.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience operating within and leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to solve complex problems and develop creative solutions with high attention to detail and execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent and advocate complex business or technical concepts.
- Fluency with mobile games business models, value chains, and competitive landscape.
- Excellent program and product sensibility, with capability to advocate and drive key product innovations or opportunities.

The Play Partnerships team works with the developers that are the lifeblood of this ecosystem. The content, games, and apps they create bring Android devices to life. The team’s mission is two fold, help developers grow their businesses on the Android platform, and help ensure new products and features succeed in large part because of the developers that make those experiences shine for users.
The Play Strategy and Operations team enables Play Partnerships to be as effective as possible. We work to define strategy and OKRs, drive operations, find new ways to create value, provide analytics, insights, and tools.
As the Head of Games and Scale Strategy and Operations, you will manage a small team that is vital to enabling the global games and the global scaled partnerships team to succeed. You will ensure senior leaders in the gaming vertical and across regions have a clear strategy, and your team helps ensure that strategy is being executed. You'll help bring our partners back to central product and business teams to enable improvements critical to unlocking vertical and regional success.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,000-$314,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage, lead, and develop a team to drive global games and scaled partnerships strategy, to ensure projects are meeting goals across the globe and to ensure vertical and regional strategic issues are being worked on.
- Communicate and advocate the needs and complexities of different segments of the developer ecosystem to Google Play’s internal teams.
- Ensure global games strategy is well understood and actionable for vertical and regional teams. Ensure regional and vertical considerations are part of global strategy.
- Develop teams, tools, and methods to transform the operation and effectiveness of the Play Partnerships organization.
- Communicate and strategize with senior leadership when programs miss targets, course-correcting as needed.
