A day in the life:
Serve as the main contact with cities, counties, utilities and other agencies.
Prepare and negotiate service agreements with local governments.
Review and approve driveway and access requests to state highways.
Work with local governments to support and protect the transportation network.
Help identify and advise on maintenance and improvement projects.
Monitor winter maintenance operations to support public safety.
Develop and oversee maintenance projects and contracts.
Respond to public questions and represent ODOT’s position.
Help prepare and monitor the maintenance budget.
Assist in supervising staff, assigning work, supporting hiring processes and identifying training needs.
District-wide daytime travel is frequent. On-call for emergency responses up to 24 hours per day, 7 days a week is required.
