About the role
<h2>Overview</h2>
<p><strong>Waters is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant</strong> to support <strong>one to two business entities within the Europe East region</strong>. This role will have end‑to‑end responsibility for <strong>internal and external audits</strong> across the region, as well as ownership of <strong>harmonized accounting activities</strong> for Europe East, including assets, recurring postings, and account reconciliations.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will actively <strong>identify opportunities to further harmonize processes and drive efficiency</strong> across entities.</p>

<p>This position is <strong>based in our Budapest or Wilmslow (UK) office</strong> and works closely with regional and global finance stakeholders.</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<p>Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to: </p>
<ul>
<li>End‑to‑end <strong>US GAAP and statutory accounting responsibility</strong> for <strong>1–2 legal entities</strong> within the Europe East region, including accruals, prepaids, local tax accounting, trial balance reviews, clearings, and reclassifications </li>
<li><strong>Primary point of contact for internal and external audits</strong> for the assigned entities</li>
<li><strong>Ownership of intercompany reconciliations</strong> across the entire Europe East region</li>
<li>Execution of <strong>daily and monthly regional accounting activities</strong>, including fixed and demo asset management, recurring journal entries, P&L reviews, cost center control, T&E accounts, and stock count coordination </li>
<li>Preparation and completion of <strong>BlackLine reconciliations</strong> for entities within the region </li>
<li>Close collaboration with <strong>internal stakeholders</strong> (Finance, AP, Tax, Country and Regional leadership) and <strong>external partners</strong> (EY, PwC, local tax authorities)</li>
<li>Participation in and support of <strong>local, regional, and global finance projects</strong>, with opportunities to drive harmonization and efficiency</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree in <strong>Finance</strong>, <strong>Accounting</strong>, and/or Certified Accountant</li>
<li><strong>Solid experience in accounting roles</strong>, preferably within an international environment</li>
<li><strong>Fluent in English </strong>(written and spoken)</li>
<li>Knowledge of any <strong>other European language (preferably Hungarian or Polish)</strong> is a plus</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with <strong>SAP</strong></li>
<li>Strong <strong>Microsoft Office skills</strong>, particularly <strong>Excel</strong></li>
<li>Experience with <strong>Blackline</strong> is an advantage</li>
<li><strong>Self-motivated</strong>, with the ability to use own initiative to improve existing processes</li>
<li><strong>Strong team player</strong> with effective communication skills and the ability to build working relationships with internal and external partners</li>
<li><strong>Flexible and adaptable</strong>, comfortable working in a dynamic environment</li>
<li><strong>Willingness to grow and develop</strong> within a global organization</li>
</ul>
<p>This person must hold a current passport and be prepared to travel abroad not only during working hours but also occasionally at weekends.</p>
