Context & Environment
- Reports directly to the Senior Labor Relations Advisor for the Port Arthur Platform.
- Oversees HR activities for assigned population (approx. 150 employees – 100 salary; 50 hourly)
- Assess business needs and provide suggestions for proper action to effectively manage population
- Communicate with employees and management
- HR knowledge and strong planning and organizational skills required
Activities
- Know, respect and ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct.
- Manage external recruitment for both NP9- and NP10+ positions within population.
- Coordinate Onboarding activities and assist in new hire orientation to ensure consistent, high-quality experience.
- Work closely with Talent Development to provide support regarding internal moves/transfers.
- Support HR shared services with onboarding/offboarding and People Assist tickets.
- Analyze trends and metric with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
- Manages and resolves less complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
- Assist in internal HR audits and continuous improvement projects related to labor documentation and compliance.
- Support Sr. HRBP with employment issues such as but not limited to restructuring, organizational change.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Assist in coaching leaders on handling performance issues, attendance, and employee relations matters with fairness and consistency.
- Understand contractual process and restrictions for union represented employees.
- Supporting Change Management such as organizational change initiatives, providing guidance and coaching to leaders and employees to navigate change effectively
- Point of Contact for Parental leave, FMLA, STD, LTD, Accommodations, and absenteeism management within population.
- Work closely with Labor relations BP to understand the union contract.
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
