POSITION OVERVIEW
JOB SUMMARY:
Environmental Service Worker unlocks assigned buildings and cleans and services restrooms, lounges, E-Classrooms, offices, pubic entrances, and stairways and other areas as assigned by supervision. Work performed to APPA level standards. Tasks are usually performed alone during a eight hour shift, but can at times be strenuous and may require teamwork. Receives direct supervision from the Environmental Services Supervisor/ Coordinator and work/project coordination from the Environmental Service Specialist.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of the ninth grade
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in vacuuming, shampooing, extracting carpets, mopping, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors; cleaning restrooms, lounges, offices, classrooms, showers, and laboratories.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent. Six months experience in the following; vacuuming, shampooing, steam cleaning carpets, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing floors, cleaning restrooms and laboratories, Work to heights of 10 feet. Able to left 50 pounds.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical Requirements: Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion. Often exposed to one or more disagreeable environmental factors, such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., with often to the point of being objectionable.
- Impact of Deadlines: Routine deadlines. Usually sufficient lead time. Variance in work volume, seasonal, and predictable. Priorities can be anticipated. Some interruptions are present. Involves occasional exposure to demands/pressures from persons other than immediate sup.
