Job Description
AZZ has an exciting 1st shift opportunity for a Production Supervisor/E.H.S at our Winsted Minnesota facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the daily production activities of the plant to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. You oversee and ensure compliance of all SOPs, Environmental, Health and Safety policies, plans and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises/Monitors production operations for efficiency and safety; ensures all regulatory requirements are met.
- Assist with establishing and monitoring overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
- Recommend or advise management on improvements which need to be made to building facilities, equipment, etc.
- Develops the production schedules to meet internal goals, as well as expectations of customers.
- Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues, and/or customers.
- Reviews and approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.
- Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
- Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.
- Has ownership of the mentor program for all new hires and ensures mentors are effective.
- Will chair the Safety Team which meets a minimum of once a month.
- Is responsible for EHS logs and recordkeeping which come from Federal, State and local regulatory agencies and/or AZZ Corporate policy.
- Will actively participate in monthly regional meetings.
- Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Implement inspection policies and procedures, ensures scheduled EHS inspections are completed and required documentation is maintained.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Will lead all accident/incident investigations, document the results on pre-established forms and send reports in withing 48 hours of occurrence.
- Will interface with the Corporate EHS team to ensure compliance with AZZ corporate policy.
- Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Provide solutions and intervention strategies for environmental, health and safety hazards.
- Remain abreast of the latest EHS trends, policies, regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- Must be driven, organized, and self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be computer literate and be familiar with all standard Microsoft Office programs. (I.E., Word, Excell, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Management Experience required.
- Environmental, Safety, and Health experience preferred.
Minimum Education
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
