The Team
Join our dedicated Paediatric Oncology team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families during some of their most challenging times. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Nurse Consultant who is passionate about delivering high-quality, family-centred care and expert clinical leadership. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate complex care, foster collaboration across services, contribute to service improvement, and advocate for the best possible outcomes for children and young people with cancer conditions across Tasmania.
The Role
In partnership with Paediatric Oncology physicians, provide nursing leadership in the provision of contemporary care to children/adolescents with cancer within the inpatient and outpatient settings across Tasmania.
Plan, coordinate and provide cancer care management following medical referral across the continuum of care to patients with cancer. Provide expert clinical advice and clinical leadership to acute and community-based patients, family members, carers and staff within a multidisciplinary team.
You will need:

Demonstrated advanced competence in contemporary cancer care nursing, coordination and management; extended practice skills in the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care of clients; and an awareness and understanding that ensures optimal patient care and care outcomes.

Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; mediation and conflict resolution skills; and a proven ability to educate and influence a broad range of stakeholders including health professionals and consumers.

Well-developed leadership skills and the ability to collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to effectively consult, refer, liaise and negotiate on complex professional, clinical service and health systems issues.

Details of appointment
Permanent full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary
$118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
