PSE's Operations Support team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Sr Operations Specialist position!

Job Description

Intensive review, approval and tracking of all types of service provider utility-level electric construction billing invoices. Assists in financial, statistical, and operational studies to support initiatives and on-going informational reporting needs of PSE Operations teams. 

 

Supports department functions including capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) budget reporting and tracking, and all types of service provider invoice review processing.  Assists in financial, statistical, and operational studies to support initiatives and on-going informational / reporting needs of Operations.  Supports the development of system and process improvements and solutions.

 

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

 

Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct.  Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Depending on area of emphasis, receives and audits simple and complex service provider utility-level electric construction job packets for completeness, data integrity, correct account coding, and documentation via on-line systems (SAP, etc.) and other sources such as red-lined as-builts.
  • Develops Ad hoc Reporting with minimal assistance.
  • Collects and analyzes cost and operational data from internal and external resources.
  • Supports Operations capital and O&M budgeting and monthly reporting process.
  • Performs routine accounting functions, such as journal entries.
  • Researches and resolves data, accounting and forecast problems.
  • Performs monthly problem order review and order clean-up functions.
  • Provides training and mentoring to other team members and departments on work processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • AA/AS in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years experience in department or related field.
  • Knowledge of FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) Accounting.
  • Experience in Process Improvement techniques.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite including Access and Visio.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities to meet plans & goals.
  • Ability to work effectively to tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to present information in a professional manner.
