Sr. Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for motivated individuals with high attention to detail to join our QA team in our IT function. You would be integral in helping to establish a separate QA team at Paymerang and will be a part of creating testing plans, requirements analyses, and finding automated testing solutions. This is is a great role if you’re looking to be part of something from the ground floor and are looking for a chance to get to implement testing solutions.

What you’ll do:

In this role, you will get to experience and participate in all phases of the quality assurance testing process, including requirements analysis and manual system test planning. You’ll also work with the QA team to create automated tests and work with our App Support team to triage and direct troubleshooting of production issues. You will leave your thumbprint on the Paymerang QA testing program.

Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain and execute manual test suites
• Report and investigate bugs found during test cycles
• Conduct exploratory testing
• Ensure overall system quality prior to a product release
• Become a SME for various areas of the business and how their processes work together
• Works with Software Dev in Test to design and build automated test suites for use in development and testing cycles
• Innovate and improve QA processes
• Create documentation where necessary
• Design and perform thorough regression testing
• Attend and contribute to design discussions and requirements gathering sessions to gain technical insight for the application(s) being built
• Review data via PostgreSQL to design edge cases to ensure test coverage
• Works with Application Support to identify and coordinate issues and fixes
• Ability to perform in a high-paced environment

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance
• Experience with JavaScript-based applications
• Experience with web APIs
• Experience with backend data querying and test data creation
• Experience with Automated Testing, Gherkin, and Playwright, especially
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices
• Team player – Share knowledge with and learn from everyone around you
• Ability to be onsite in Richmond, VA

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
• Experience with performance and/or security testing
• Security mindset and familiarity with PCI-DSS Security Practices
• Experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript (js)
