JOB OVERVIEW

The Assistant Director of Manufacturing provides leadership and operational support across all four manufacturing facilities to ensure efficient, high‑quality production and to help guide the organization through continued growth. This role oversees the Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Safety functions and is responsible for driving strong performance through effective leadership, training, and development. Key responsibilities include managing operational metrics and financial performance, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives. The Assistant Director works closely with the Director of Manufacturing to maintain optimal operational effectiveness and support long‑term strategic goals.

 

ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

· Provide leadership across all manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient processes, consistent output, and on time product delivery.

· Optimize floor capacity and throughput by leveraging Shop‑Trak and other production tools to maximize productivity.

· Advance continuous improvement, automation, and cost‑reduction efforts to strengthen operational performance and scalability.

· Oversee Quality, Safety, and Maintenance functions to ensure regulatory compliance, a safe working environment, and reliable equipment performance.

· Assess, recommend, and justify new or replacement equipment to support operational efficiency and long‑term capacity needs.

· Monitor key performance metrics and financial indicators, contributing to capital planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.

· Manage plant capacity, timelines, and future growth planning, including evaluation of expansion opportunities.

· Collaborate with logistics, purchasing, and scheduling teams to streamline workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and minimize downtime.

· Partner with HR to support workforce development, including recruitment, training, skill development, and retention initiatives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field required.

· Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

· 3-5 years of experience developing and leading lean process implementation and/or green belt in Six Sigma

 

 

 

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does have leadership responsibilities over multiple departments.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position does require travel to all Robinson facilities.

· Leadership – Experience leading cross-functional teams through influence and achieving goals aligned with company objectives.

· Communication – Experience to express information/ideas in a professional manner to varying levels of the organization.

· Problem-Solving/Analytics – Experience with analysis, financial information, and metrics that leads to making informed decisions and generating ideas to improve overall business performance.

· Project Management – Experience overseeing the production of product from start to finish, managing budgets, and managing manufacturing capacity.
