Front Line Supervisor, Facilities

Job Description

The candidate will be responsible for running a multi-disciplined crew made up of Mechanical, Machinery and Electrical employees. Candidate needs strong background in the mechanical and electrical field while working closely with Department Manager to ensure daily and long-term projects are carried out.

 

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Completing assignments within budget constraints and scheduled objectives.
• Coordinating and facilitating resolution in accordance with the union agreement.
• Candidate will maintain a high level of credibility with the customer, peers, and mechanics.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

Required:

• High School diploma or GED.

Preferred: 

• Graduate BIW Apprentice or Associate's Degree in a Mechanical field.

Required/Preferred Experience

Required:

• Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and implement cost reduction initiatives.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Bridge Crane and Portal Crane Maintenance.
• Experience in maintenance of complex Machine shop equipment to include Lathes, Grinders, Milling Machines, Burning Machines, Presses, Brakes, and Benders as well as experience with CNC equipment.
• PC skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to manage conflict.

Preferred:

• 10 Years' of plant maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Rolling stock equipment, and heavy equipment Maintenance.
• Fabrication background.
