The Warehouse Manager in the Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) Coon Rapids, Minnesota location leads a team responsible for the coordination and execution of all Customer Shipping/Receiving and, in certain plants, Planning functions. The Warehouse Manager has responsibility for Safety, Quality, Employee Relations, and Budgeting and Costs in their respective departments of responsibility.

What you’ll do as a Warehouse Manager:

  • Monitor and correct problems to ensure the work environment is safe and comply with federal and state regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure accuracy of product reconciliation documentation and supporting procedures (Incoming product quantities, accurate receipts and BOL, damage reporting).
  • Ensure accuracy of return shipment quantities and Ship To: locations.
  • Strive for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve inbound and outbound shipments using lean tools, data-based decision-making, and evaluating and improving flow.
  • Audit area standard work, make corrections as necessary and identify processes for targeted continuous improvement events.
  • Plan / Manage the processing schedule to ensure Customer turn time and processing requirements are met.
  • Support facility capacity management process through active participation with site management team.
  • Meet with team (1:1) regarding performance.
  • Lead warehouse staff by creating a safe work environment, collaborate across job functions managing logistics issues.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT(CTPAT), FDA, OSHA, EPA regulations. 
  • Audit adherence to standard work, revising as necessary. 
  • Develop KPIs for area of responsibility, provide coaching to direct reports to ensure understanding. Identify development opportunities related to inefficiencies for succession preparation. 

Additional duties:

  • Optimize the planning and scheduling of irradiators/vessels/accelerators.
  • Coordinate with Customers regarding product deliveries and shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with CTPAT requirements and DOT regulations related to shipping of Hazardous Materials.
  • Provide support to Customer audits as needed. Participate on Customer visits and Business Reviews.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely receipt of inbound Customer production loads, accurate and timely outbound shipment of Customer loads, timely scheduling of Customer production loads, timely response to Customer inquiries.
  • Minimize Customer product damage and Quality (NC/CC) issues. Investigate Quality issues.
  • Ensure adherence to Safety and Quality requirements.
  • Engage workforce using Lean Principles while seeking to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost). 
  • Manage area expenses to ensure P&L targets are achieved.

 

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:

 

Required Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 or more years of leadership experience.  
  • In lieu of degree, High School Diploma / GED and 10 or more years of supervisory experience.

 

Preferred Experience

 

  • Experience leading teams of multiple people, including Planning function in identified location
  • Knowledge of DOT and other logistics-related regulation Performance management
