Job Description
This application is for a 6-month student role from July - December 2023. Resume review begins in January 2023.
We are seeking an enthusiastic scientist to join our analytical biochemistry team in the Biotherapeutics and Medicinal Sciences Department as a full-time co-op student for 6 months. As a co-op, you will have opportunities to work on multiple modalities, such as antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs), gene therapy and biological therapeutics. You should be passionate about protein science and develop advanced analytical methods in a cross-functional environment and be willing to solve challenging problems.
Position Description:
You will become a member of our analytical biochemistry group, working closely with our biological drug discovery team to support research projects.
Primary responsibilities:
- Developing LC-MS method in characterizing ASOs
- Utilizing HDX MS method to study protein-protein interactions, structural conformational changes of AAV capsid proteins, and epitope /paratope mapping
Qualifications
Experience in protein mass spectrometry and knowledge about protein structure and biology as pluses
- Experience in LC-MS analysis, HDX preferred.
- Strong analytical capability and problem-solving ability
- Passionate about learning and taking on new challenges
- Strong collaborator and team player
To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Education:
The position requires a B.S. in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related fields. Ph.D or M.S. candidate is preferred.
