As our General Counsel, you’ll play a strategic role in managing our legal operations and risk management functions across the company. This is a unique opportunity for a collaborative, business-minded legal leader who understands construction law and thrives in a team environment. We’re looking for someone who’s not just technically skilled, but who leads with humility, curiosity, and a solutions-first mindset.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead contract negotiation and legal review, both internally and externally.
  • Oversee Findorff’s risk management program — from property & casualty insurance to bonding and subcontractor default insurance (SDI).
  • Ensure compliance across multiple states for licensing and regulatory matters.
  • Implement and manage contract database systems and legal process improvements.
  • Partner with operations, preconstruction, and field teams to mitigate risk and streamline processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Executive Team and Board, helping shape key strategies.
  • Develop and deliver internal training and mentoring on legal and ethical best practices.

  • Strategic thinker with strong learning agility and business acumen.
  • Comfortable engaging with Board members and leadership.
  • Ability to navigate high-level stakeholder relationships, including Board and Executive Leadership.
  • Collaborative approach and an ability to guide teams toward solutions — not just decisions.
  • Humble and relationship-oriented.

Education & Experience:

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active member of the Wisconsin State Bar
  • 10+ years legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house settin
