Accounts Receivable Specialist

Under general supervision, posts payments and adjustments to customer accounts, assists in the Billing function, reviews postings done by others, scans documents and maintains various records and files.   Essential Job Functions •Posts payments from remote deposit and credit cards daily to customer accounts. •Processes refunds, bad debt write-offs, small balance & credit balance write-offs, service charge write-offs, transfers, ACH payments, and miscellaneous adjustments. •Assigns invoice numbers to in-advance payments. •Scans documents into imaging software. •Assists in the Billing function. •Performs other duties as assigned.   Knowledge, Skills, & Required Education •Accounting or General Administrative Certificate preferred.  High School education, or its equivalent, plus six to twelve months related training or business experience. •Good verbal and writing skills. •Analytical abilities to accurately record and process cash receipts, to interpret and correct customer payment problems. •High level of mental/visual attention required for close work with figures. •Must possess good keyboarding skills and operate a personal computer proficiency.
