The Simulation and Training Solutions group in Sterling, VA, is seeking a visionary Electromechanical Drafter/Designer to join our trailblazing team. In this role, you'll dive into a variety of projects, from developing sophisticated full-flight training systems to crafting efficient desktop trainers. What You Will Do

  • Create engineering drawings based on specifications from the engineering team   
  • Incorporate redlines and design changes in accordance with Engineering Change Notice guidance
  • Understand, utilize, and drive improvement in the appropriate processes and tools during development of hardware
  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts to verify hardware design satisfies trainer requirements
  • Assist with the build, integration, and delivery to customer of completed hardware designs
  • Build relationships with internal customers, understanding their program needs and challenges, and effectively communicating an approach to solving their problems
  • Work with Export / Import personnel to ensure requirements are met for Engineering documentation

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract 
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools
  • Experience creating documentation needed to support design, manufacturing, and production
  • Knowledge of Engineering Drafting and Industry Standards
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining, casting, and manufacturing processes
