Front Line Supervisor, Tinsmith - 2nd Shift

Job Description

Responsibilities for this position include:

• Plan, organize, and coordinate work of mechanics on crew
• Ensure quality and timeliness of work is completed within budgeted parameters
• Assign and status MACPAC work orders/coordinate operational schedule
• Support and administer labor contract and ensure safety regulations
• Communicate with other supervisors to help achieve and maintain smooth work flow and high degree of productivity
• Use electronic time accounting system to maintain employees' time and overtime daily

Required/Preferred Education/Training

Required:

• High School diploma or GED

Preferred:

• Graduate BIW Apprentice

Required/Preferred Experience

Required:

• Trades experience in an industrial or construction environment
• Understanding of shipbuilding processes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred:

• Two years’ experience in Tinsmith classification
• Supervisor experience
• MACPAC system understanding
• Previous supervisory experience in a production environment
