About the role

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, the Student Services Professional will assist in the recruitment and admissions of new, degree-seeking students for special session academic programs. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, assisting with the planning and participation in recruitment events, identifying potential partnerships, guiding prospective students through the admissions eligibility process, maintaining effective working relationships with students and campus offices such as Admissions and the Registrar’s Office, and contributing to the development of marketing strategies to support enrollment goals.

Responsibilities

Student Services:
• Acquire prospective student information utilizing basic interviewing techniques and active listening skills for student recruitment.
• Provide information and guidance to prospective students on degree and professional programs.
• Advise prospective and current students with suitable solutions and courses of action related to enrollment and/or course completion.
• Evaluate student needs utilizing knowledge and judgment to provide direction, guidance, and advice on course and program options.
• Coordinate, plan, and support program events, oral presentations, information sessions, and projects of moderate complexity for small and large groups to assist recruitment efforts.
• Provide support and assistance to students on a variety of personal and institutional problems, questions, and challenges.
• Maintain accurate student information and status in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or database.
• Attend recruitment fairs and serve as a spokesperson to promote College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE) programs at community colleges, employer-provided benefits and college fairs, conferences, and other community events.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for community college transfer counselors, law enforcement training officers, and local community organizers.
• Assist prospective students in the next steps in the admission process by providing guidance on required documents, including missing documents/transcripts until applicants are fully admitted or denied.
• Advocate for student needs and identify solutions in collaboration with campus partners.
• Make recommendations in requesting campus services for degree-seeking special sessions students.
• Assist students in preliminary assessment and review of transcripts to ensure program eligibility and admittance.
• Help students identify community college courses that meet General Education and admission requirements.
• Assist students in locating course offerings at various community colleges.
• Refer students to fully online programs at community colleges that will ensure they meet graduation requirements.
• Assist students in seeking admission exceptions including GPA and course substitutions by applying working knowledge of campus policies.
• Assist students that are requesting a change of major by explaining processes and required steps.
• Guide students through the application process by providing clear instructions and answering routine questions.
• Assist students in understanding their financial information, including but not limited to, program cost, tuition, payment plans, and financial aid packages/disbursements.
• Provide recommendations regarding official transcript deadlines by analyzing projected applicant numbers, anticipated student graduations, and available course capacity. 

Project Coordination:
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationship with community organizations, non-profit agencies, community colleges, and government agencies.
• Create student and program forms to support in recruitment efforts.
• Assist in providing lead work direction and training to Administrative Support Coordinators (ASC's) and student assistants.
• Coordinate projects for ASC's and student assistants for purposes of recruitment and for call campaigns.
• Work with the marketing team on the design of marketing materials as well as email blasts.
• Conduct clear and concise presentations to campus stakeholders regarding program performance related to enrollment and retention services.

Reports:
• Identify trends in the application denials and recommend solutions to improve counseling and guidance during recruitment efforts.
• Collect, compile, and evaluate data for the purposes of student recruitment, enrollment, and retention to support program planning and decision-making.
• Maintain and generate accurate reports.
• Prepare reports on recruitment and enrollment activity.

Orientation:
• Maintain and update student handbook, recruitment presentation, and pre-admission forms.
