Job Summary

This position provides assistance to the supervisor, staff, and administrators in the Julia N. Visor Academic Center. The student receptionist position also provides customer service to students using the Visor Center's various services. This includes assistance with scheduling/changing appointments, greeting people as they walk in, and answering the phone.

The student receptionist will report directly to the Visor Center Program Support Specialist, but will work for all staff and administrators in the Visor Center.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Greet and assist students and visitors that enter the Julia N. Visor Academic Center.
2. Assist students with tutoring, writing, and workshop appointments.
3. Answer phones. Be prepared to answer questions regarding Visor Center services.
4. Monitor and respond to Julia N. Visor Academic Center email inbox.
5. Handle confidential information.
6. Assist in keeping the Visor Center tidy and organized for proper day-to-day function.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Rate

$15.00/hour

Required Qualifications

- Dependable and PROMPT.
- Ability to multitask while providing excellent customer service.
- Refined phone etiquette.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous receptionist experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
- Working knowledge of basic office equipment.
- Familiarity with the Julia N. Visor Academic Center services.

Work Hours

Intermittent shifts during hours of operation, 8:00am-9:00pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm Friday; occasional Sundays 4:00pm-8:00pm.

Must be able to complete the following with or without reasonable accommodations:
1. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
