Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician l

Our partner is seeking a Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Technician I in Chipley, FL. This entry-level position offers on-the-job training in utility locating and designating, providing knowledge and experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering and surveying methods. Responsibilities:

• Learn to operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment
• Use tools and equipment for utility investigations
• Drive commercial motor vehicles (CDL license not required)
• Complete daily work logs
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance
• Assist with survey and data collection tasks
• Perform daily maintenance of equipment
• Load and unload survey equipment
• Clean and maintain survey equipment
• Learn to operate survey equipment
• Set up survey tripods
• Perform safety set-up and flagging operations

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Valid driver's license with good driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
• Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary for the job
• Willingness to work outdoors in all climates
• Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time
• Good oral communication skills and attention to detail
• OSHA Safety certifications (preferred)
• Prior utility related experience (preferred)
• Basic understanding of Highway/Utility plans (preferred)
