A Day in the Life of a Michigan Market Lead

You are at the forefront of leading market growth strategies and business development pursuits in your region. You'll help identify key pursuits, form client outreach strategies, and build relationships in Michigan while being supported by our team throughout the Midwestern US. Your knowledge of Michigan and surrounding areas, local government authorities, decision makers, advocates, and local standards and procedures will be key to your success.

You will also have the opportunity to grow and manage an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. Your experience delivering transportation design projects, feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents, will help to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.

Qualifications of a Market Lead:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, landscape architecture or planning
  • Professional engineering license, AICP, or PLA
  • 10+ years of experience in capital improvements with a specialty in transportation planning + design, working as a civil engineer, landscape architect or Planner
  • 2+ years serving in a project and/or design management role
  • 5+ years of experience with business development in Michigan and or surrounding areas
  • Proven ability to develop/maintain client relationships
  • Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates, Local Programs and Design Manuals for MDOT, preferred
