Reporting to the Decision Science Manager, you will lead the development and maintenance of robust analytics pipelines, mentor junior team members, and ensure the availability and reliability of analytic-ready data for analysis, modeling, reporting, and decision-making purposes.

 

What you will be doing:

• Leading the design, development, and maintenance of scalable analytics pipelines on Google Cloud Platform to support the needs of the Decision Science team and the North American market broadly. 
• Collaborating closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders in the business functions to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient data workflows. 
• Implementing and enforcing best practices for data ingestion, storage, and transformation to ensure data quality, reliability, and consistency. 
• Optimizing and tuning existing analytics pipelines for improved performance and efficiency.  
• Monitoring and troubleshooting analytics pipeline issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize disruptions. 
• Mentoring and guiding junior analytics engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. 
• Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to data engineering and cloud computing, and proactively introduce relevant innovations to the team.
• Performing other duties as required

 

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. A Master's degree a plus. 

• Extensive experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 

• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL 

• Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL principles, and data warehousing concepts. 

• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor team members. 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 

• Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
