Take on this impactful role, responsible for proper management of wound care by treating and monitoring wounds that are the result of disease, injury, or medical treatments. The WOCN will provide care that will quickly and safely heal various types of wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, bed sores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. The work requires assessment of wounds, to create and implement treatment plans, monitor infections and signs of various infections, and clean wounds. WOCNs will collaborate with unit leadership and staff RNs to implement treatment and coach and mentor staff in wound care. Regularly evaluate patient outcomes, and participate in initiatives focused on improving quality and performance, such as minimizing readmission of our patients.  

This a a per diem position at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.

Preferred Criteria

• Experience in an academic medical center, includes experience partnering with multidisciplinary teams
• Masters Degree in Nursing
• National Certification

Required Criteria

• Minimum of 3 years of related clinical experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• New York State RN license
• Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse
• BCLS certification

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
