Job Description
Job Summary
Universal Studio Group (USG) is hiring a Financial Analyst to join our growing USG Production Finance team. We strive for the best and brightest talent to bring innovation, change, and leadership in the rapidly changing landscape of television production. The position will report to the Senior Manager of Production Finance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee, manage, and administer company Vendor Management System (VMS) utilized by production accounting teams. Ability to onboard and train new users on various systems.
- Work with Production Finance Executives (PFEs), Production Finance Associates (PFAs), and various show Accountants to manage and consolidate monthly production cash flows.
- Weekly review of production forecasts for pacing purposes across USG (Universal Television, Universal Content Productions, and 1st Run shows). Work closely with Director and Manager of Production Finance FP&A regarding trends and projections.
- Process foreign vendor setups, as well as production foreign wire payment requests. Follow up and communicate status to Production Finance Associates (PFAs) and Production Finance Coordinators (PFCs).
- Prepare necessary month-end close journal entries in SAP and Vista5, and perform various ad hoc analyses and reporting within these same systems.
- Work closely with corporate Income Reporting (IR) team to handle 1099 requests, tax year reporting (1099, 592, 1042, etc), and miscellaneous income adjustments at Year End.
- Provide Accounts Payable support of daily check runs, cancel/reissues, and review of daily bank exceptions.
- Upload and maintain supporting documentation for co-productions to Scenechronize and Dropbox folders
- Must be comfortable working with a wide range of people and personalities (both internal/external), in an always changing, fast-paced, production environment.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Familiarity with FP&A, SAP, and workflow system KiSSFLOW. Production Accounting systems such as Vista 5, Global Vista, and Scenechronize a plus.
- Advanced user of excel with track record of complex model building, e.g. pivot tables, V look-ups, SUM ifs, automation of link updates; SAP General Ledger a plus
