About the role

Responsibilities

 

The CVN Air Department Ship Systems Analyst will support the government customer Commander, Naval Air Forces Atlantic (COMNAVAIRLANT), working onsite at CNAL Norfolk, VA.

  • The CVN Air Dept Ships Systems Analyst will facilitate daily CVN aviation status updates to internal and external stakeholders using Microsoft Suite Products.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for training assistance, oversight and certification recommendations to CVN air departments in the areas of aircraft handling, crash and salvage, catapult and arresting gear, and aircraft refueling operations.
  • Serve as subject matter expert involving aircraft handling, crash and salvage, catapult and arresting gear and fueling training requirements during FTC, TSTA and FEP. 
  • Provide experienced support of shipboard aviation support systems including Aircraft Carrier Launch and Recovery Equipment Management Program (ALREMP) and Aviation Fuel Systems. 
  • Assist government POCs in developing requirements for new aircraft replacement, aircraft all required spare parts, assemblies, aircraft handling equipment and support facilities necessary for aircraft carriers.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in supporting ALRE training programs for aircraft carriers.

Required Qualifications

  • SECRET security clearance required
  • Bachelors and 5 years' experience (or a AA+8, MS+3, or HS+11)
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in providing training assistance, oversight and certification recommendations to air departments on aircraft carriers in areasd of aircraft handling, crash and salvage, catapult and arresting gear and and aircraft refueling operations. 
  • Minimum 10 years' experience of technical, management, development and integration experience with Naval Air Department requirements onboard aircraft carriers occuring within the past five (5) years. 
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a liasion with military and DOD personnel involving aircraft handling, crash and salvage, arresting gear and fueling training requirements for shipboard team. 
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in ALRE training programs.

Desired Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in elements of the Ship's Maintenance and Material Readiness (3M) Department, other staff departments, repair facilities, and operating units regarding ALRE repairs. 
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in shipboard aviation support systems including Aircraft Carrier Launch and Recover Equipment Management Program (ALREMP) and Aviation Fuel Systems. 
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in responsible roles for material condition of air systems equipment (catapults, arresting gear, ILARTS, JBD, NGL, LSO/HUD).
