The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Control System Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Providing daily technical assistance to maintenance, process and production personnel in diagnosing, troubleshooting and determining root cause failures.
  • Providing control system theory and programming training to maintenance electricians, control system technologists and control system engineers
  • Supporting corporate, division and plant engineering groups with the planning and installation of capital projects
  • Willingness to be on-call and work different shifts to provide coverage
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years’ industrial experience with the support, installation and modification of electrical control systems in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years’ experience with the support, installation and modification of electrical control systems
  • Controls Engineering support experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Measurex, NDC or Mahalo Gauging systems
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon or Automax PLC’s and Drives
  • Experience with Wonderware, Ignition, IFIX or Factory Talk View SE Scada Systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills
