About the Position:
Corporate Operations is seeking to hire a Small business manager to help expand Truck in a Box Sub haulers business. Truck in a Box program helps existing business and aspiring start-ups, source and lease a truck through Copart and guarantee daily volume to the facility.
This position reports to the Truck in a Box Manager. This position is remote; however, it will require travel to all annual tow shows, corporate meetings in Dallas, and yard and provider visits as needed.
Essential Duties:
Conduct onboarding meetings with new TIB Sub Haulers to ensure a smooth start with Copart as a Sub Hauler.
Work with Truck in a Box Sub-Haulers and guide them in growing their businesses
Connect sub-haulers with industry contacts and opportunities, including helping them find additional sources of business outside of Copart
Assist with small business grants and loan applications that may be available
Support Truck in a Box Sub-Haulers with their relationship with Copart
Assist sub-haulers with Catastrophe Response opportunities within Copart
Provide basic accounting and budgeting guidance to vendors with minimal financial management experience
Problem-solve challenges sub-haulers face in day-to-day business operations
Monitor productivity of sub-haulers to ensure growth and operational efficiency
Assist sub-haulers in finding low-cost solutions for maintenance, tires, equipment, and fuel sourcing
Help improve internal processes to speed up onboarding of new Truck in a Box Sub-Haulers
Interview new applicants for the Truck in a Box Program and determine, based on towing industry experience and other factors, whether they are a good fit
From time to time, assist other departments with menial or administrative tasks to support overall company operations
Deliver strategic advice, accountability, and actionable tools to help sub-haulers scale successfully
Required Skills and Experience
Proven experience in business coaching, consulting, or small business development
Specialized knowledge and experience in the towing industry is preferred
Strong understanding of accounting, budgeting, and financial planning for small businesses
Familiarity with transportation, trucking, and logistics operations
Knowledge of insurance requirements for both business operations and tow trucks
Ability to identify cost-saving solutions for maintenance, tires, equipment, and fuel sourcing
Experience navigating small business financing (grants, loans, SBA programs, etc.)
Strong relationship-building and networking skills
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and mentoring abilities
