This internship is a 10-week long program with a set hourly rate of $30/hour.

Job Description

With Fannie Mae’s 10-week (June 2023 - August 2023) paid internship program you will be empowered to drive change, lead with creativity, own your career, and make a difference. THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE 

We have business internships available in various divisions on our business and operations teams. Depending on your team assignment, you will have exposure in areas such as project and data analysis, process improvement, requirements gathering, and reporting. This position is specific to our Enterprise Models & Climate Impact team.

The ‘Enterprise Models & Climate Impact’ team drives Fannie Mae’s climate strategy through the estimation of our current and future climate risk, and partners with the business to develop solutions and raise awareness of internal and external stakeholders. They lead the enterprise’s core modeling efforts for valuation and mortgage performance and provide analytical services to business units using advanced technologies. 

Examples of intern tasks and projects include: 

• Contributing to analyses in making financial, client, acquisition, or other business decisions 
• Assisting application developers and project managers to develop plans for application upgrades  
• May conduct research, schedule and plan activities, coordinate and prepare deliverables, provide training support 
• Gather data to prepare analyses, reports, and schedules to communicate to management and clients 
• Participating in audits of financial records, operating procedures, and internal controls for assigned business units 
• Assisting in coordinating the development and monitoring of key risk indicators 

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship 
• Academic achievement (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above) 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Rising senior enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (2024 graduation date)
• Business, Economics, Finance, Management and Mathematics majors are preferred 
• Strong analytical background 
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute to a team atmosphere  
• Self-starter, strong business acumen, and results focused 
• Superior communication skills, both oral and written 
• Fluency and aptitude with technology applications
