• Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

This position assists the Providers and Clinical Departments with coordination of Surgical Clearances in a medical office setting by working Surgical Clearance requests and coordinating all requirement steps to completion and submission to the surgeons office.    

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Works Surgical Clearance Requests/Tasks and coordinates all components including the provider consultation, recommended testing, and compiling all of the documents with the surgical clearance letter and submitting it to the surgeons office.
2. Coordinates with diagnostic testing departments to ensure all orders are completed and testing reports are available.
3. Coordinates with the ACC Department any anticoagulation transitions, Lovenox Bridging, etc to ensure a safe care plan for the patient.
4. Coordinates with the providers the final clearance letter and any specific orders or restrictions.
5. Compiles all documents for submission to the Surgeon’s Office
6. Answers incoming calls that relate to Surgical Clearance inquiries.  
7. Informs patients of the status of the Surgical Clearance and notification when clearance has been sent to the surgeon.
8. Accurately documents all interactions and processes completed in the chart.
9. Provides patient instruction per physician orders on medication education, diagnostic testing, symptom assessment, etc.
10. Interacts and collaborates on a professional level to ensure optimum patient care with the clinical care team and Management.
11. Provides high quality and timely patient care and service to all patients and family members.
12. Returns all patient messages within 24 business hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED. 

Registered Medical Assistant

Two years Medical Assistant experience required in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Cardiology 

Current BLS certification (must be obtained within 90 days if not current).
