The RSS Other Advanced Sensor Field Operations Sustainment program is composed of an energetic multi-disciplinary team of over 50 field support technicians working collaboratively with internal and external customers and programs to provide and support cutting-edge airborne radar systems capabilities to our nation’s warfighters around the world, and around the clock. This team is positioned at the tip of the spear, alongside the customer, providing direct support to ensure the warfighter has the most capable systems on the front line to meet the challenges our nation faces.
This position is for a Centralized Field Engineering (CFE) Maintenance Manager, Field Service supporting the RSS Other Advanced Sensor program that will direct / manage Field Teams that interfaces with sensor users to provide long-term technical field support for complex electronic and electro-mechanical radar systems. Home location is Dallas, Texas.
What You Will Do:
- Participate in daily reviews with Government customer.
- Brief Integrated Product Team lead with all issues or concerns from the Gov’t team as well as from other sites maintaining fielded systems.
- Participate in multiple meetings between RTX leadership and Gov’t customer (weekly and monthly)
- Address customer concerns and issues applicable to all fielded systems to include repair schedules, additional assistance from teams outside the Field Ops group.
- Review Maintenance Advisories / Bulletins, Technical Publication Deficiency Reports (TPDR) for accuracy and submit to gov’t customer for final approval.
- Assist Engineering with coordinating field inputs for Notice of Escape (NOE) items that affect fielded systems.
- Monitor adherence of Ground Operating Procedures (GOP) for multiple sites CONUS and OCONUS. May include on site spot checks.
- Participate in the Second Party Verification (SPV) qualification of Field Ops members to inspect the completed maintenance actions of others.
- Notify all FSRs when procedure changes occur, or additional guidance is provided that affects fielded systems.
- Manage annual updates or changes to GOP (as required)
- Monitor all sites for strict adherence to documented procedures, policies requirements. This includes RTX and Gov’t customer policies.
- Monitor the fielding of tools, Calibrated Tools, Peculiar Support Equipment (PSE), and consumable parts for all sites that maintain fielded systems.
- Assist the Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) with customer requirements, disseminating information to / from FSRs / sites.
- Assist IPTL with development of multiple Office Product data packages.
- Assist the IPTL with the collection and data calculation of various system performance metrics and compare data results against customer calculations.
- Assist the IPTL with the presentation of Briefing materials when required.
- Coordinate with the Product Support team and Depot for the return of and / or repair of items needed for field repairs.
- Monitor performance of item managers assigned to other sites to ensure all required items are available on the shelf or identified and on order.
- Monitor the day-to-day operation of the system maintenance efforts, to include manpower planning, detachment coordination between site leads, shipping, receiving, packaging, and inventory requirements.
- Utilize knowledge gained from and through field experiences to provide onsite technical support and assistance directly to customers when required.
- Communicate technical information effectively in writing as well as verbally.
- Coordinate with the offsite engineering team as required to assist with troubleshooting system discrepancies beyond the scope of FSRs.
- Be prepared to assist FSRs with occasional maintenance efforts if needed to ensure the continued operation of the fielded systems.
- OCONUS travel to assist FSRs in the field is possible on occasion (as workload at CONUS site permits)
