Business Development Support Technician - Grand Forks, North Dakota

KWS is looking for a new team member in Grand Forks, North Dakota! The Business Development Support Technician will be responsible for the technical support of the beet quality analysis business of our Business Unit Sugarbeet. The duties comprise all value chain levels from customer interaction to close contact with partners to further develop the technology in collaboration with internal/external stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions:

Work with current and new systems being designed, which are used to sample and measure sugarbeet quality.

Contribute to the accomplishment of Business Unit Sugarbeets KWS BEETROMETER® marketing and sales activities

Installing NIRS systems at customer sites (hardware and software), and verification that installed systems run according to specifications.

Training customers on proper operating procedures and processes of NIRS systems.

Collecting, processing and evaluating samples from Research and Development projects

Customer data validation, including data analysis of existing NIRS units.

Assist in conducting trials for calibration development and testing using Machine Vision and NIRS technology.

Organizing, Cataloging and Shipping.

Control schedule to accomplish projects on time and within cost estimate.

Maintaining, repairing and testing equipment.

Fabricating, testing and updating prototypes equipment.

Further technological developments in close collaboration with stakeholders. This comprises the implementation of activities to generate additional value for clients and KWS with beet quality analysis

Provide technical support for other Sugarbeet business projects

Supporting current and new customers.

Other duties as assigned.

Ensure the Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines, Procedures and safety policies are followed, and personal protective equipment is used correctly.

Occasionally travel and/or drive on behalf of the business.

Required Qualifications
-
Associate’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Organizational, planning and creative problem-solving skills
-
Experience in project planning and execution.

Computer skills and ability to learn new systems
-
Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.

Ability to operate automated equipment and/or hand tools.
-
Ability to fabricate equipment, including welding, fabricating and assembly.

Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.

Ability to work in the office, outdoors and in a factory environment.

Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree
