Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Associate, Sustainability Specialist for our Professional Services team. You will gain vast knowledge of the sustainability marketplace to provide in-depth, organized, and well-thought-out researched conclusions based on market demand.
This entry level role will support large key results and make an impact on Triumvirate’s evolution of sustainability as a company. Triumvirate is currently advancing the current sustainability abilities and offerings for the expanding market that requires further expansion of resources to support the bandwidth of the professionals growing the service line. The Sustainability Specialist will partner with individuals at Triumvirate, who are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in their respective sustainability or environmental health and safety (EHS) fields, for further direction, support, and guidance.

This position reports to an EHS Director. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and is based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Somerville, MA.
Essential responsibilities:
Learn & Understand the Vision
- Be a trusted resource to be directed and self-guided.
- Learn and understand Triumvirate’s sustainability commitment to the environment.
- Gain knowledge of the objectives with key results (OKRs), goals, and initiatives internally for Triumvirate’s company growth, directly related to sustainability initiatives.
- Learn and understand the Triumvirate’s Sustainability service offerings for clients and prospects.
- Travel to key locations within Triumvirate to learn about and understand further asset-driven sustainability efforts within the organization.
Ask & Priorities
- Research the sustainability market, including regulatory requirements and initiatives globally.
- Develop training materials focused on various ESG reporting and disclosure strategies, as well as 3rd party certification requirements to support Triumvirate’s client-related efforts.
- Find and document keystone networks, groups, and global leaders within the sustainability market.
- Utilize a weekly progress report on research completed and regulatory information tracked.
- Gather, organize, and track data that support internal and external sustainability programs.
- Attend 1-2 tradeshows or networking events with a Triumvirate Sustainability Leader.
- Build onto the innovation potential of refined sustainability service lines.
- Examine the potential for resource acquisition by the company to expand sustainability capabilities.
Initial Key Results
- Understand and support updates to Triumvirate’s sustainability vision and strategy.
- Develop, update, and organize the sustainability resource library, including in-depth summaries of different ESG reporting structures
Create a resource for external trainings and certifications in the realm of sustainability, identifying any accreditations organizations have received and the topics covered in each program.
- Design and create sustainability marketing blogs (4) and whitepapers (3) distributed by the Marketing Department.
- Connect with internal teams and external networking partners working on sustainability-related projects to develop sustainability marking materials specific to those projects.
- Suggest updates to the Triumvirate sustainability/green webpage.
- Present key findings from research completed (i.e., presentations, whitepapers, blogs, reports with key results, etc.)
- Create a training presentation on the EcoVadis methodology outlining the required elements of reports for a bronze, silver, and platinum certification.
- Create a training presentation on the GHG emissions protocols for scope 1, scope 2 and scope 3 emissions.
- Create a training presentation on the requirements for Climate-Related Financial Risk Disclosure statements.
- Maintain a running list of sustainability projects that arise and work with our business analytics team to track earnings accordingly.
- Support additional initiatives as directed by TEI’s Environmental Leadership Committee and associated subcommittees.
