Mechanical Engineer I

Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the entry-level mechanical engineering position will focus on learning foundational skills and supporting design and production efforts under close supervision.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Engineering

• Supports the design and documentation of basic mechanical components and systems under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
• Conducts simple analyses and measurements to verify component functionality.
• Assists with prototyping, fabrication, and assembly activities.
• Creates basic technical drawings and models using CAD software.
• Follows established design protocols and safety procedures.

Project Support

• Participates in team meetings and design reviews to learn cross-functional collaboration.
• Tracks tasks and timelines under direction; communicates progress to supervisor.

Development & Growth

• Takes ownership of assigned tasks and seeks feedback for improvement.
• Begins to understand business and project objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
• No prior experience required

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Internship or co-op experience
• Exposure to mechanical drafting, tolerance analysis, or lab prototyping
• Prior experience using SolidWorks

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Familiarity with CAD tools and engineering documentation
• Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills
• Clear communicator, open to direction and coaching

 

Physical Demands: This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks. Ability to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment. Some light lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.
