Job Summary: In this role, you will lead our Messaging and Collaboration team, managing and supporting our organization's messaging systems, collaboration tools, and related infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and performance of these systems while developing and implementing policies, procedures, and best practices. As a strategic thinker with strong technical skills, you will guide and mentor your team, collaborate with other IT departments, and stay current with industry trends to recommend improvements and upgrades.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the administration, maintenance, and support of messaging and collaboration platforms/applications (e.g., Microsoft Exchange, M365, etc.).
• Manage collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and other related platforms.
• Ensure the security, availability, and performance of messaging and collaboration systems.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for messaging and collaboration services.
• Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of messaging and collaboration tools.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and upgrades.
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to messaging and collaboration services.
• Prepare and manage budgets for the messaging and collaboration team.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT with 3-5 year of IT management, with a focus on messaging and collaboration systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and related technologies.
• Experience with cloud-based messaging and collaboration solutions.
• Experience with security best practices and compliance standards for messaging and collaboration systems.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate).
• Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $140,000.00–$170,000.00 Annually
