FEMA- Field Office Administrative Coordinator (Nationwide)

Dewberry maintains a cadre of skilled professional and technical staff in an on-call capacity to support disaster recovery work across the United States. We are currently seeking qualified Field Office Administrative Coordinators to perform a variety of clerical functions in support of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recovery operations. This is an excellent opportunity for those who want to use their knowledge, skills and abilities to help disaster survivors at disaster recovery operation work sites throughout the United States and its territories.  *Please note, remote work is not permitted for this role.  This is a deployment‑based position supporting disaster relief efforts across the United States. Team members are deployed to impacted sites as needed and may travel frequently on short notice. While the role requires physical presence at various disaster locations, it is not tied to a single office or fixed worksite.

Responsibilities

Field Office Adminstrative Coordinator Responsibilities:  

 

In this role, you will travel to disaster recovery sites to assist with project administration, planning and oversight. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Scheduling meetings and maintaining correspondence in Microsoft Teams and Outlook 
  • Processing staff travel requests, documenting accountability, maintaining a database of employee information 
  • Assisting with change requests and task order modifications 
  • File and document management 
  • Logistics coordination 
  • Technical and correspondence writing 
  • Other administrative and clerical activities related to the work 

Required Skills & Required Experience

  • High School diploma required; An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in office administration in a professional work environment 
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams); Power BI proficiency is a plus    
  • Preferred previous experience as a FEMA Technical Assistance Contract Coordinator (TAC-C)
  • Construction knowledge or experience is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Excellent time management and organization skills 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills 
  • Must be forward thinking, proactive and able to take initiative 
  • Successful candidates will possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to help others; they are highly flexible to respond to various tasks and changing demands 
  • Must be able to travel and deploy to disaster recovery operation for a minimum 90-day assignment; preference is for longer commitments 
  • Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day, 7 days a week for extended periods of time 
  • Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver's license 
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to successfully pass a federal background investigation that includes a financial and criminal history assessment
