Summary
Lab/Clinical Assistant, Radiography is a part-time, non-benefited position that supports faculty in delivering high-quality laboratory and clinical learning experiences. This role ensures a safe and effective environment for students to develop radiography skills by assisting with scheduled lab and clinical sessions. Responsibilities include monitoring and guiding students during hands-on activities, facilitating lab exercises, assessing student performance, and maintaining cleanliness, organization, and inventory of lab spaces and equipment. Additionally, the Lab/Clinical Assistant provides instructional support and mentorship in clinical settings to reinforce student learning and promote competency in radiographic procedures. The expected workload for this position is 12-20 hours per week.Compensation: $23.76/hr.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – this position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. - Support Laboratory Instruction: Assist faculty during scheduled lab sessions by preparing instructional materials, guiding students through radiographic procedures, and reinforcing proper techniques to ensure safety and competency.
- Lead and Monitor Lab Activities: Facilitate student learning during hands-on lab experiences, provide real-time feedback, and assess and score student performance according to established rubrics and program standards.
- Maintain Lab Environment: Ensure efficient lab preparation and maintenance by setting up equipment, maintaining digital imaging systems—including DR, CR, C-arm, and portable units—and overseeing the functionality, cleanliness, and organization of all radiography equipment and lab spaces.
- Manage Inventory and Supplies: Monitor and maintain inventory of lab materials, consumables, and equipment; report shortages or malfunctions promptly to faculty or program leadership.
- Provide Clinical Support: Assist students in clinical settings by reinforcing radiographic techniques, promoting adherence to safety protocols, and serving as a resource for questions. Collaborate with clinical staff to support a positive and effective learning environment.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Uphold radiation safety standards and institutional policies in both lab and clinical environments, ensuring proper use of protective equipment and adherence to accreditation requirements.
- Collaborate with Faculty and Staff: Communicate effectively with program faculty regarding student progress, equipment needs, and any issues impacting lab or clinical operations.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Perform additional tasks as needed to support program operations and student success.
