Job Description

• Perform ligand binding assays on various platforms including SPR technology and ELISA
• Maintenance and passage of cell lines 
• Troubleshooting ligand binding assays
• Independent troubleshooting of routine and non-routine assay workflow.
• Learn new methodologies and instruments when required based on the project needs. 
• Perform high-throughput sample testing in an organized and timely manner.
• Maintain up to date inventory of the critical reagents and the study samples.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to prosecute studies and projects in line with the strategic direction of the team.
• Present research results in team meetings.
• Multitask and work in an efficient way to support multiple projects.
• Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks, prepare precise technical report summaries, analysis and maintain appropriate documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Cellular and/or Molecular Biology, Bioengineering,or related field is required with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with ligand binding assays on various platforms including SPR technology and ELISA.
• Hands-on experience with aseptic technique.
• Ability to design, run and interpret ligand binding assays.
• Ability to maintain and pass cell lines.
  • Experience with mammalian culture and primary cell culture is a plus.
• Experience with liquid handling instruments is a plus.
• Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter, able to prioritize work and work efficiently with minimal supervision.

• Position is full-time, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Kalamazoo, MI are encouraged to apply.
